Spring Term 20-21

Welcome to Year 1's page! 

This term we will be learning all about the history of 'Explorers' including Neil Armstrong and Christopher Columbus. After half term, we will be learning about the geography of 'Why don't penguins need to fly?'. During this topic, we will begin to understand hot and cold countries and how animals adapt to living in these places. We will also be discussing the 7 continents and 5 oceans. 

*PLEASE NOTE* The below may change due to the national lockdown restrictions set on 05/01/21

PE Kits - PE kits are needed every Tuesday with Miss Kenny and Wednesday with the sports coach. Children will need an outdoor kit as PE is not inside at the moment. PE kit is as follows:
Black joggers or leggings - shorts when the weather becomes warmer.
Black jumper or jacket
Appropriate/ plain white polo or t-shirt
Trainers

Reading Books - Reading books need to be brought into school on Monday or Tuesday at the latest and will be returned on Friday, that way we can make sure all books are cleaned and safe for the children to take home. We will try to read with the children during school but books will not be changed throughout the week.

Spellings - Spellings will still be tested weekly (Friday). Please bring these back by Wednesday at the latest, this gives you ample time to practice.

Homework - Homework needs to be brought back to school by Wednesday at the latest, this gives enough time for the books to isolated and ready to be given back on Friday.
