St. Michael's Curriculum
The curriculum at St. Michael's encompasses the subjects laid out in the National Curriculum 2014 and all subjects are taught to a high level. Emphasis is placed on Literacy and Numeracy skills, but these skills are applied to the same high standard in all the other areas of the Curriculum: Science, Religious Education, Art and Design, Computing (which replaces ICT), French, Topic (Geography and History), Music and Physical Education.
We teach reading using a variety of books and texts and send home reading books from the Oxford Reading Tree and Ginn Reading schemes so that parents can support at home. We teach phonics using the sequence from letters and sounds and with resources from the Jolly Phonics scheme.
If you would like more information about the curriculum than you can find on the website, please get in touch and we will be happy to help.
